    SmartOutline and aspx Files

Your product works great with JS files, but I'm encountering problems with ASPX files. The region information gets lost while editing the ASPX file. SmartOutline writes the region information to the sodata file, but when opening the file again some region are lost? I'm using Visual Studio 2008 on a VISTA machine. Thanks,

    Re: SmartOutline and aspx Files

    Hello,

Does your .aspx file is a part of solution or project? What would be if you open and edit .aspx file in Visual Studio (without solution/project opening)?

Perhaps, SmartOutline could not save region settings due to lack of permissions to write in a file.

Could you send us LOG file  - usually located at <My Documents>\SubMain\SmartOutline for .NET\Log.txt

    Thank you,

    Re: SmartOutline and aspx Files

The .aspx file is part of a solution. SmartOutline has permission to write in a file. My .js files are also part of the solution. And with them SmartOutline works perfect. Also the region settings for the .aspx file are written to the .sodata file. When I close the .aspx file and open the .sodata file all region settings are there. Now I close the .sodata file and re-open the .aspx file. The glyphs for the regions are displayed but regions are neither folded nor is the region name available. If I close the .aspx file again, SmartOutline assumes no regions present and overwrites the region settings - meaning deleting them.

I can send you the log file, but all it is saying is an endless litany of regions created. Nothing else in it.

    Hi Stephan,

Unfortunately, I can not repro the issue. I tried many different situation on Vista but it works.

Is your project ASP.NET Web site with File System location?

Which Add-ins (Tools -> Add-in Manager) and Vs packages (Help -> About -> Copy Info) you have installed?
Try to switch them off and repro the issue again.

What if you'd open aspx file without solution (File-> Open -> File...). Will it work?
