Hi Grant,
Profiles are XML files stored in <User>\My Documents\SubMain\CodeIt.Right for {VS version}\Profiles . There is one file per profile which includes all of the rule instance configuration.
(Note: The built-in profile is embedded resource file - you will not find it in the Profiles folder)

First question: How do I delete a profile?
Second question: I got the impression from an earlier post, that Profiles (and their associated rule configurations) are stored in XML file(s). So far, I haven't been able to locate the file(s). Where are they? Is it OK to edit these by hand?

When you try to edit the built-in Microsoft Guidelines profile in CodeIt.Right you will get a message saying that profile is not modifiable. If you want to customize CodeIt.Right profile, you need to create your own profile first. This can be done by cloning existing profile or creating your own from scratch.
