    Commercial Use

we currently writing our Naming Guidelines for use within our company. Then I found your document and  ..wow..pretty nice work and nearly perfect for our use. I´m a programmer, and as programmers are pretty lazy Big Smile at all I want to mainly copy & paste your work into our document. Is it allowed to use your document for our commercial company ? Do I need to include a reference to your company ? Maybe even to have the source document (Word,OOffice,Latex?)  ? We are will to pay for this of course.

    Kind Regards,

PS: Next update was planned for Feb 2007, any delay ?

    Re: Commercial Use

    Hi Klaus,

You are free to use our Coding Guidelines in full or any part of it for your company internal means as long as you don't sell your guidelines document or distribute it for publicly (free of commercially).

Also please feel free to take a look at our CodeIt.Right product which is designed to help and enforce guidelines and best coding practices while reduce the burden of manually correcting the code to meet the team standards. It is still in Beta and doesn't have the complete rule set implemented yet, nevertheless it is useful already as is. I'm very interested to know your opinion on the product.

Yes, we originally planned to have update for the Guidelines in Feb 2007 (rewriting the Control Naming section) but it got delayed - just usual resource conflict, we had to work on updates to our product for Vista and 64 bit OS compatibility.

    Thank you,
    Serge Baranovsky
