    Unable to spellcheck help file content file (aml file extension)

    I have been working on some MAML files to extend a Sandcastle help project. The files have an "aml" extension. Whilst I can turn the spell-checker on for C# files, I cannot for turn it on for the aml files.

    The "AML" files essentially just XML to a particular schema.

    There are samples of the files at http://www.help-info.de/en/Help_Info_AP_Help/longhorn_maml_example.htm

    Re: Unable to spellcheck help file content file (aml file extension)

    Hi Clive,

    Adding IncludeExtension line in the {YOUR SOLUTION}.sln.GhostDoc.xml file (the same folder your solution file is) should include the extension although you'd have to add the AML keywords to dictionary manually.

    <GhostDoc>
      <SpellChecker>
        <IncludeExtensions>
          <IncludeExtension>.aml</IncludeExtension>
        </IncludeExtensions>
        <IgnoreExtensions>
        </IgnoreExtensions>
        <IgnoreFiles>
          <IgnoreFile>.\Import\IImportContext.cs</IgnoreFile>
        </IgnoreFiles>
      </SpellChecker>
    </GhostDoc>

    If you don't have that file already, ignore 1 file or extension and it will get created.

    Thanks!

    Thank you,

    Thank you Serge, however I have neither been able to find a *.sln.GhostDoc.xml file nor create one by the method suggested above.

    Re: Unable to spellcheck help file content file (aml file extension)

    Clive,

    The easiest way to create the file is to check spelling for the IImportContext.cs file, for example, find any spelling error and in its smart tag menu select Ignore IImportContext.cs file.
    Then, in solution directory you will find <solution name>..sln.GhostDoc.xml file.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you,

    Re: Unable to spellcheck help file content file (aml file extension)

    Thank you for the tip. I have created the file for the solution and added the entry for the aml file type but without success. It may be that the project type of shfbproj is not recognised by GhostDoc.

    However I have now found the prompt for adding words to the user and solution dictionaries. The prompt rectangle is on the small side.
